Chief Executive Profile:
Steve graduated from Maryville College with a B.A. degree in Business Management. However, Steve felt a calling to work with children and youth in North Knoxville and worked as a part-time youth minister for the Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church. From this ministry, Emerald Youth Foundation was formed and Steve?s business background prepared him to lead the grassroots organization as Executive Director. Steve has also participated in the community by serving as President of the Norwood Kiwanis Club; Team Chair for the Holston Conference United Methodist Church, Bishops? Initiative on Children and Poverty; and Advisory Council Member for the Empowerment Zone. He is a Board member for Project GRAD and the Oakwood-Lincoln Park Neighborhood Association and a 1997 graduate of Leadership Knoxville.

Program Description:
JustLead is the flagship program of Emerald Youth Foundation and is comprised of the following four strategies:
- Faith Development: Increasing in love of Christ and others
- Academic Reinforcement: Staying and doing well enough in school to graduate with life, college, and career-readiness skills
- Relationship Building: Building stronger and more positive relationships with family, peers, and other adults
- Health Improvement: Reducing risky behaviors and improving healthy habits
JustLead is for children, teenagers, and young adults and includes church-based programs such as:
- Elementary after-school and summer program
- Learning Lab (skill based tutoring)
- Discipleship program (mid-week Bible study and fellowship; corporate worship; cross generational activities; service; family faith tools; meaningful roles in the church for young people)
- Relationship building activities (mentoring, field trips, campus work, etc.)
Additionally, JustLead offers city-wide activities like:
- Sports leagues, teams, and clinics
- Weekend camps and retreats
- Adventure trips and events
- Summer specialized skills and hobbies camp
- Young Adult/Alumni program

Funding Needs
Emerald Youth Foundation's annual operating budget is approximately $2,000,000 and therefore many resources are needed. The support of individuals, businesses, churches, foundations/grants, and civic organizations in any amount is welcome.

Volunteers are always needed to serve in a variety of roles (in the program with youth or in other administrative or behind-the-scenes capacities).
