- Population Served:

Adults
Program Description:
Our Seagrass Fund provides grants to projects that focus on cost-effective restoration techniques that heal the damage caused by boaters, construction, and other harmful activities. Restoration is also important because healthy seagrass meadows can have substantial carbon sequestration benefits, meaning they absorb and store the greenhouse gases that are causing climate change.

Program Description:
The Gulf Restoration Fund supports those organizations and individuals working on the restoration of the coastal and marine ecosystems of the Gulf of Mexico.
While the damages and impact of the BP Deepwater Horizon explosion and subsequent spill are still being assessed, we are focusing on the other 80% of the Gulf that has been destroyed by decades of coastal development projects, agricultural runoff, overfishing and pollution.
