Impact Statement

Child abuse and neglect is a community issue and communities must form partnerships to end child abuse. Communities can influence child abuse issues through advocacy in civil proceedings in the child protection court system.  Community volunteers serve as Guardians Ad Litem to represent the children’s best interests and advocate for children to be placed in safe and stable homes.  With CASA, abused and neglected children receive more support services while involved in foster care. The child protection court system is also provided with best interest recommendations and testimony and children are placed in safe and permanent homes.
