Funding Needs
ICC was originally conceived as a vehicle to assist those who temporarily needed assistance with their medical and dental needs while in a period of economic hardship. However, with the growth of our community, the growing dilemma of the uninsured and our recent economic downturn, ICC has evolved into a primary care home for the majority of our patients. Although ICC still plays a vital role in providing short term, acute care, ICC increasingly manages long term, chronic health problems in our community.
Although clinic services are free, ICC is a charity, volunteer driven service that depends on contributions from our community in order to provide care. Clients are encouraged to make a donation to ICC, however small or large, when they are able. No clinic will be denied care if they are unable to do so. We depend on you, so you can depend on us!
Volunteer Needs
Medical and Dental Professionals - includes dentists, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, dental hygienists, dental assistants and retired professionals. They work in the same capacity required in any clinic setting.
Social Services - interviews the patient before the examination by the dental or medical staff. Basic information about the Clinic and its policies and procedures are explained and an assessment of other patient needs is determined.
Office Assistants - the front desk volunteers in both clinic settings are essential for the orderliness and documentation for each patient visit. Receptionists are greeters and “keepers” of the paperwork. Also responsible for answering phones and providing helpful information. At other non-clinic hours, volunteers are welcome for various office tasks.
Translators - most often, Spanish interpretations are needed. This communication link begins during the interview and continues with the medical or dental exam.
