Mr. Augustine (Chris) Baca is the President and Chief Executive Officer of YDI. Mr. Baca has provided leadership for the organization since 1972. He earned a B. S. in Economics and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and holds a postdoctoral certificate in State and Local Government from the JFK School of Government at Harvard University.

Program Description:
The Education, Employment and Training Division serves children, youth and families by providing comprehensive employment, education, case management, support and aftercare services through a variety of programs and services.
Program Long-Term Success:
Through the New Mexico Workforce Investment Act, this division operates five sites that provide comprehensive youth services centered at one location that are all focused on helping clients improve their employability. Services include helping with school completion, dropout prevention, guidance and counseling, practical work experience, summer employment, occupational skills training, alternative schooling and more. The sites are located in Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia counties. Other programs designed to help improve client’s employability include:
- GED exam preparation
- Workforce Literacy
- Tutoring/Homework assistance
- After-school work experience
- College preparation
- Basic employment skills training
- Medicaid enrollment
- After-school activities

Volunteer Needs
Youth Development, Inc./ Wise Men and Women Mentoring Program is actively recruiting adults to serve as mentors to Albuquerque, Bernalillo County youth. All volunteers must agree to a complete background check by providing finger prints and references .
