Chief Executive Profile:
Through her work with children and her relationships within the aviation community, Ann McGee recognized that there were hundreds, even thousands of children requiring specialized treatments and second opinions far away from home, and that hundreds, even thousands of aviation resources were available, that could be secured to fly them. From this realization came the concept of Miracle Flights for Kids, an organization that helps children and flight resources find each other. Today, those resources have expanded to include donated seats on commercial and corporate aircraft, donated frequent flier miles, individual airplane ticket sponsors, and private aircraft. Miracle Flights also purchases commercial seats when time, funding and/or circumstances warrant. In 2006, Ann McGee won the coveted Montel Williams One Voice award. The award was presented on the Montel Williams show in New York which aired on Thanksgiving Day across America. In 2007, she was also chosen a CNN Hero, People Magazine's Heroes Among Us, and received the prestigious Eleanor Roosevelt Humanitarian Award. Ann was also featured on Martha Stewart's website "Dreamer into Doers." In 2009 she received the Woman of the Year IMPACT award from the Gamma Sigma Sigma nurses Association, and most recently, the Town & Country Magazine, February, 2012 issue, "Woman Who Makes a Difference" award.

Today, there are thousands of known diseases. Most community doctors can treat only the most common ones. That is why Miracle Flights for Kids is so vital to children suffering from complex and life-threatening conditions, who need to see specialists and get second and even third opinions to save their fragile young lives. Today, there are so many new treatments for serious conditions like cancers, heart defects, and muscular diseases. The more a family can learn about their child's diagnosis and treatment, the better chance that child has of receiving the most appropriate care -- often saving their precious young life.

Program Description:
Miracle Flights for Kids has provided over 70,000 free flights for sick children across America. We have granted over 36 million miles of access to health care for sick and dying children everywhere. Other programs include Project Hero, which identifies flight resources to assist in transporting children to specialists, and surgeries. These currently include discounted and donated airline seats and donated frequent flyer miles, as well as individual flight sponsors, and the purchase of airline tickets. As these resources are secured, Miracle Flights For Kids makes them available to underserved families through flight request applications. Miracle Flgihts for Kids' Outreach Program enlists the help of people across America to spread the word about our services so that no child in America is denied proper treatment or a second opinion due to their family's financial inability to pay the hight costs of airline transportation today.
Miracle Flights for Kids makes a steadfast commitment to fiscal responsibility in fulfilling its mission. Of each dollar spent in fiscal year 2010-2011, eighty-seven cents was devoted to the organization's mission, well above that required by the nation’s leading charity watchdog groups and the Combined Federal Campaign.
Program Long-Term Success:
Passed the 70,000 passenger mark, flying sick children over 36 million miles to see specialists, and receive 2nd and 3rd opinions .
Program Short-Term Success:
Updated our website to make it more accessable for families and donors. Created new, professional outreach and giving programs. Created new, family centered video, received national awards.
Program Success Monitored by:
Our success is determined by the number of children we fly each month. We also contact the parents of each child after each flight for quality control feedback concerning ease of access to our free service, and comfort.
This year we contacted the children who are now adults to document their life successes only possible because Miracle Flights got them to the proper diagnosis and treatment that saved their lives as small children.
Program Success Examples:
"Miracle Flights are angels in the sky. My daughter has spina bifida and has to go to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia every 3 months to see the doctors there who hope they can prevent a very painful, high cancer and death rate surgery with their other treatments, or a least prolong it as long as possible. Without Miracle Flights for Kids, we wouldn't be looking at our miracle ever day. THANK YOU MIRACLE FLIGHTS!!! We are eternally grateful"

Funding Needs
With the current economic downturn and parent layoffs even more children need help to get them well.
Miracle Flights often spends $500 per ticket or $1500 for a child and both parents to provide them with free commercial airline tickets. Requests for flights can reach as high as 718 per month. That is why we need your help today.
