Mission Statement
To provide understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and strategies in seeking treatment from the medical community. To train and provide actual skills in preventing domestic violence. This course is taught in conjunction with military family advocacy programs, law enforcement officials, physicians and counselors.

Impact Statement
The Pegasus Military Family Foundation, Inc. has been able to serve as liaison with the Veteran's Administration and other non-profits to secure treatment for military members not able to obtain an immediate appointment with the VA system. Since 2003, Pegasus has served as an adjunct to the military, law enforcement, and physicians and counselors. Pegasus has helped numerous military members through the events following 9-11, Iraq/Afghanistan, extension of tours, and military officers under extreme personal stress. 100% of all public donations goes directly to programs for military members and their families.

A survivor of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Domestic Violence in a military family, the Executive Director of The Pegasus Military Family Foundation, Inc. is qualified to talk about a flashback because she has had one. The program presented comes from over 20 years of personal and professional experience in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Domestic Violence. Liza Benson is a Certified Mediator with the Dallas County Family Courts and an Officer of the 305th Juvenile Court in Dallas, Texas. Ms. Benson has served on the Board of Directors of Dallas CASA and has held volunteer leadership positions with The Dallas Junior League and Girls Inc. Ms. Benson has served over 5,000 hours in working with military members and their families. As President of The Pegasus Group, a Dallas-based consulting firm, Liza has trained physicians, nurses, and patients in the areas of anxiety, depression, and pain management. Ms. Benson also holds certifications in Sports Nutrition and Family Court Mediation.

The Pegasus Military Family Foundation, Inc. continues to meet it's set goals and expectations. #1. To remain commiteed that 100% of all public donations go directly to programs for military members and their families. #2. To expand the training in Post-Traumatic Stress to more military bases outside of Texas so more military officers can help break the stigma of seeking help for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. #3. To add seminars in interviewing skills for troops returning home from Iraq/Afghanistan, with the goal of veterans closing the interview and securing employment.
