Mission Statement

"I Have A Dream" Foundation - Newark, NJ Program, Inc is a nonprofit organization to motivate and empower children from low-income communities to reach their education and career goals by providing a long-term program of mentoring, tutoring, and enrichment, and the promise of tuition assistance for post-secondary education.

College Path Project

The College Path Project is a progressive four plan that will provide our Dreamers with a road map, to successfully completing high school and making well-informed decisions, to gain access to college and/or an accredited trade school. The project, will cater to the individual needs of each Dreamer, providing an academic plan that will also include life skills, college readiness/career exploration, research based projects, persona essay writing, and financial-aid/financial planning for Dreamers and parents.

Youth Identified Mentor Project

This project involves Dreamers intimately in identifying and selecting a college-readiness mentor to guide them through successful completion of high school and entry to college. Mentors and Dreamers will work together , at their own pace and discretion, through structured but flexible activities, projects, and goals that will help the Dreamers to explore and prepare for college success.

BIO

A serial entrepreneur, Steve​n​ has spent the last 25 years creating and launching new companies in the entertainment business. He co-founded Wind-up Entertainment in 1996 and served as President and C.E.O. until March 2007. As the architect of the company's strategy, Steven focused on creating artist partnerships while approaching each artist as a unique and long-term brand. Prior, Steve​n​ served as founder, President and C.E.O. of Castle Entertainment, a division of publicly traded Alliance Entertainment. While there, he was responsible for the successful launch of the record label which focused on acquiring label and artist catalogs. He started his career in banking in 1986 at Citicorp and later with Chase Manhattan Bank. He received his B.A. in Economics from Rutgers College and a M.B.A in Marketing from Fordham University. Steve​n​ serves on the Leadership Council for Worldwide Orphans Foundation (www.wwo.org), a not-for-profit organization that provides medical and social services to abandoned children across the globe.
