Mission Statement

Gore Place Society preserves, restores and maintains the 1806 home of Massachusetts Governor and U.S. Senator Christopher Gore (1758-1827), its collections, outbuildings, grounds and small farm for the education and enjoyment of the public. Through our educational programs, guided tours and community events, we seek to inspire an appreciation of early 19th century America--its society, politics, art, agriculture and industry--and its contribution to the building of the Republic. Gore Place has been designated a National Historic Landmark with special significance in labor history.
