Mission Statement

The mission of the Professional Center for Child Development, Inc. is to provide, at a professional level, therapeutic and educational services for special needs children and their families through supporting the family unit and working with each child to develop to his or her full potential. The Center focuses on eliminating barriers to growth and development for disabled children and families coping with the complex health issues and challenges their child must face.

The Developmental Day School is a Chapter 766 approved private pre-school that offers educational, medical, therapeutic and social services to children and families dealing with complex needs. Staff provide resources to families, assist in advocacy on behalf of enrolled children, offer ongoing support programs designed around specific health issues and facilitate future placement in private and public school settings.

Early Intervention

A home based program that serves children from birth to age three and provides a number of services for eligible children. EI serves children and families throughout Greater Lawrence whose physical, emotional or cognitive development are delayed or at risk for subsequent developmental issues. To meet the need within the community The Professional Center for Child Development operates a dedicated EI site in Lawrence at 130 Parker Street.

Pediatric Therapy

This program is a combination of therapeutic specialties, which serve children who need additional attention after the age of three, or to augment services provided by the public school system. The services are available on a private pay basis. Private therapy is available one on one or in small group settings that include speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, educational therapy and Cranio Sacral therapy. Additional services include alternative and augmentative communication evaluations and consultations and services to public school systems.
