Mission Statement

The Purpose of the Club is to preserve for posterity the historic mansion known as the LORING-GREENOUGH HOUSE situated at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, to use the House as a base for community education about the history of the neighborhood, and to foster civic and community spirit in JamaicaPlain. The Mission of the Club is to be a community-based educational and social organization that assures continued stewardship of the house, other structures, grounds and collections.

The Club will accomplish this purpose by: (1) preserving the Property known as the Loring- Greenough House located at 12 South Street, Jamaica Plan, Massachusetts, including the historic house itself, its collections, and its surrounding property; (2) educating both the local community and other interested persons about the history and historical contexts of the Club, the property, and the neighborhood; and (3) fostering civic and community spirit in Jamaica Plain.
