Initiatives and Projects

It is the belief of The Connecticut Women's Consortium that services should be designed not just for men, but also for women. A trauma-informed, gender-responsive approach to care is part of the CWCs ultimate vision. Adult and Juvenile Female Offenders Conference: The Connecticut Women's Consortium hosted the national Adult & Juvenile Female Offenders Conference (AJFO) in October 13-15 of 2015! Learn more Intimate Partner Violence Project: The Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) project provides women who are or have been incarcerated coping skills for dealing with the effects of trauma caused by intimate partner violence. Learn more Criminal Justice Trauma and Gender Project (CJ TAG): The Criminal Justice Trauma and Gender Project (CJ TAG) is technical assistance and training for Greater New Haven criminal justice agencies in trauma-informed and gender-responsive care. Learn more Trauma and Gender Initiative: The Trauma and Gender Practice Improvement Collaborative (TAG Initiative) promotes trauma-informed, gender responsive care by presenting best practices, providing information, identifying tools, working with national trainers, and consultants. Learn more TAG Agencies Project: Agencies apply and some are selected to receive training and technical assistance on gender-responsive, trauma-informed care over two years. Learn more Women's Services Practice Improvement Collaborative: WSPIC is a collaborative of the Connecticut Women's Consortium, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), and women's specialty service providers funded by DMHAS. WSPIC focuses on improving behavioral health services for women. Learn more
