STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"Edward R. Murrow once said, “There is a great and perhaps decisive battle to be fought against ignorance, intolerance and indifference in the world.” The MY HERO Project uses the power of media and technology to inspire, educate and empower people around the world. Its stories, art, and short films illuminate heroes from all walks of life and bridge religious, cultural and political boundaries to build a global learning community. When we launched MY HERO in 1995, the idea was simple — to combat the violence and negativity so prevalent in commercial media by spotlighting positive media, to create a virtual space where people of all ages could discover and share stories about real life heroes. Since then, MY HERO has grown into a digital library of hope—used in 194 countries to celebrate diversity, peace, tolerance, human rights, environmental awareness and more. I hope that, as you learn more about our organization, you will better understand our goals and programs and the many ways that you can be part of The MY HERO Project.Jeanne MeyersCo-founder and Director"
