Mission Statement

JSPS encourages young Jews to express their opinions and perspectives on community issues, politics, and cultural affairs, through journalism and creative communication. As recent studies confirm, the majority of Jewish students are uninvolved in Jewish activity. Those who are interested crave the opportunity for discussion and debate. Almost 35 years after JSPS was founded, Jewish students still yearn to engage with Jewish identity and social values, and JSPS continues to address this need. New Voices Magazine responds to this need by providing a forum for students to debate the Jewish issues that they care about most. As an entirely youth-run, youth-written magazine, it is the only resource of its kind. Unconventional, intelligent, and hip, the magazine features articles on Jewish culture, religion, politics, Israel, and campus life.
