What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
To educate people regarding Christian social teachings, the Foundation sponsors a number of high level seminars, including topics such as "Racism and the Church: Toward a More Fraternal Society," "Refugees: A Challenge to Solidarity," "Children in Armed Conflict: Everyone's Responsibility." To foster projects that address specific emergency needs among the poor and suffering, the Foundation has helped provide material assistance and pastoral care to refugees and displaced persons in areas such as East Asia and the Middle East. It has also provided startup funding for projects such as healthcare for people, especially children, who suffer from HIV/AIDS; funding a sanitation program in Vietnam, and aiding children affected by Hurricane Katrina in the southern part of the United States.
The Foundation sponsors three awards. The Path to Peace Award recognizes an individual for his or her commitment to the development of peace in the national and international arenas. The Servant of Peace Award recognizes otherwise unsung heroes whose only purpose and desire is to serve where the need is the greatest. The Champion of Peace Award recognizes an organization for outstanding commitment to serving those most in need, and for its steadfast efforts to assist the downtrodden and vulnerable.
