IDEA-NY's operating programs include: Debate in the Neighborhood, launched in New York in 2012 with the establishment of three debate clubs at
faith-based organizations and community centers for 9th through 12th
grade students. The program aims to bring debate beyond the conventional
school environment directly to immigrant and first-generation students,
giving them access to an enriching educational tradition. Additionally,
the program aspires to foster understanding, cooperation and a free and
lively exchange of ideas among students from diverse cultures,
ethnicities, and religious traditions, demonstrating that opposing views
can be explored in ways that connect rather than divide people.  The IDEA Youth Forum is IDEA's flagship event joining together hundreds of students and educators.  In 2013, IDEA and its partners will host 250 young people from over 40 countries at the 19th Forum in Galway Ireland.   Debate, Decide, 2012: The US Presidential Election Project, which aims to foster youth engagement in the 2012 U.S. presidential election,
through debate and other non-partisan, educational activities which,
through a focus on the candidate debates, can help develop students’
critical understanding of the election’s key policy issues and how those
issues affect today’s youth.   iDebate Press, which publishes books and periodicals for the debate community and IDEA's website (www.idebate.org).
