Mission Statement

The purposes for which this Corporation has been organized are as follows:

A. By means of periodic publication or otherwise, it shall disseminate information to students, faculty and employees of Syracuse University concerning university affairs, meetings, events and other items of educational interest or that serve the convenience of such persons.

B. It shall provide a non-partisan forum for expression by students, faculty members and community members of opinions concerning the University and educational matters in general along with world and local matters.

C. It shall provide valuable educational experience to students and others in writing, editing, photography, design, art and management.

D. The net annual profits, if any, of the Corporation, after allowing for appropriate reserves for growth, expansion, equipment, etc., shall be used for scholarship aid for needy and worthy students in journalism attending Syracuse University. The amount of the scholarship aid, if any, shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

E. The Corporation shall not organize, operate or conduct an institution of the kind referred to in subdivision (d) of Section 404 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law.

F. Upon dissolution the assets of the Corporation will be distributed solely to organizations enumerated and described in subparagraph 3 of paragraph (c) of Section 505 of the Internal Revenue Code.
