Mission Statement

The Trust is a non-religious non-profit organization founded in 1965, and dedicated to ensuring the preservation and to strengthen the multiple communities that use historic Christ Church as a place for community building, personal growth, education and artistic expression. The Trust runs an educational program with tours of its historic church and burial grounds.

Christ Church Preservation Trust serves over 350,000 individuals through our arts and education programs.

Adult and students visit our historic church and burial grounds for regular tours and Adult education activities.

The Neighborhood House Arts Program serves hundreds of artists and over 46,000 audience members each year through weekly performances, residencies, exhibitions that take place in our 110-seat Black Box Theater, rehearsal and exhibition spaces, and meeting rooms.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
    The Christ Church Preservation Trust is a non-religious, non-profit organization created in 1965 to ensure the preservation and strengthen the multiple communities that use historic Christ Church's properties as a place for community building, personal growth, education and artistic expression.

    In its 50 years, the Trust has raised $20 million for restoration and maintenance of the buildings and property. Significant undertakings include restoring the church steeple, rebuilding the historic balconies of the church, preserving the fences and property surrounding the church, creating an archive for historical Church materials, restoring and reopening the Christ Church Burial Ground for the public,

    Renovation and accessibility improvements to Neighborhood House to develop a theatre spaceon the 4th floor as well as developing other spaces throughout the building for use by performing and visual arts groups.

    Organization's Goals

    • Preserve and maintain the buildings on its historic campus: Christ Church , The Christ Church Burial Ground and the Neighborhood House.
    • Support artists in the creation and presentation of new, multi- disciplinary performing arts by serving as an incubator and venue.
    • Attract audiences interested in multi-disciplinary performing arts to Neighborhood House as a cultural destination.
    •Enhance interpretation and education related to the history of the church and its role in the neighborhood and community.
    • Preserve and protect the Archives and Material Culture Artifacts of Christ Church
