How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

Our Jefferson Walking Trail program instilled a sense of pride in the local neighborhood and encouraged healthy lifestyles within the District population. Our Teacher Grant program has fulfilled the unmet needs of the classrooms in ways of media resources and publications for student learning. Kindles met that objective also.

Charting Impact

Self-reported by organization

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We continue to work at meeting the District unmet funding of essential learning tools for the staff and students.
  2. What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Teacher grants are a big step in that direction and we were able to issue five grant opportunities for all three learning levels in our District - elementary, middle school and high school. We need funding to sustain these opportunities.
  3. What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Employing an Executive Director gives us the leadership required to submit grants, search for funding partners and work with all stakeholders.
  4. How will they know if they are making progress?
Our Board works together to determine a need, search for funding and meet the objective.
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
Our Board developed a one mile, hard scape walking trail in less than 6 months. We have accomplished the funding for Teacher Grants for the first round of applicants and secured a grant for the middle school Innovation Lab furnishings. We have much more to do, including finding a sustaining resource for Teacher Grants and funding for a new high school Chemistry Lab.

STATEMENT FROM THE Executive Director

"The Clinton Community School District (CCSD) Education Foundation was created in 1984 and became a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 2004. Our organization was created to enhance the educational programs for both the students and staff in the Clinton Schools District. The Foundation will provide donated funds for student educational programs and activities which either have not been funded or have been under-funded by the normal operating budget. These funds will be used to expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations. The primary focus of the Education Foundation is to solicit, receive and manage gifts that support, enrich and benefit the educational experience for all Clinton schools students. It should be noted, although we have office space at the District Administration building, we are not employed nor part of the Clinton Community School District.
