Mission Statement

DP Worldwide Inc. was founded in 2003 to preserve and protect historical information around the world.  Its mission is fourfold:

To digitally preserve archival records using high-resolution digital imaging technologies.

To make the world's historical information more accessible by creating and maintaining online historical research databases.

To improve libraries, archives, and historical depository facilities around the world.

To expand the knowledge and skills of archival conservation staff.

Through its work, DP Worldwide strives to increase cultural awareness and understanding, facilitate historical and genealogical research, preserve the world's recorded history, support the democratic principles of transparency and openness, and contribute to the progress of developing countries which lack the means to perform such work on their own behalf.

Overview

Self-reported by organization

In 2009, preparations were made to begin the Mongolian National Archives Digitization Project (Monarch Project).  Agreements with the Mongolian National Archives were renewed and plans were set forth to start the imaging process in mid-2010.

DP Worldwide's objective for 2009-2010 is to secure first-year funding for the Monarch Project and begin the imaging process at the Mongolian National Archives.  Within a year of funding, our goal is to be operating at 25% of total imaging capacity for the project (i.e. 12-15 scanning stations in place and operational).
