Mission Statement


Believing that art in all its forms can be a vehicle for hope and healing, REACH Studio Art Center exists to foster awareness of, appreciation for, encouragement in and skill acquisition of the arts within a neighborhood setting. REACH seeks to connect artists with local residents, local residents with each other, and artists with other artists, and people with a better understanding of their place in this world, creating an atmosphere of connectedness, shared pride and creative problem solving.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Program 1

Teen Open Studio

Teens are invited to enroll in each 8-11 week term of TEEN STUDIO which will provide youth participants with opportunities to explore a variety of artistic media. Local artists and volunteers will work with teen participants to develop hands on skills in art media as well as planning and project completion. Teen participants will also have opportunities to get involved in REACH's Youth Board, volunteer for special events and help plan and set up art exhibitions.

Creative Connections

FREE, after school art for elementary school aged children 7 – 12.  Priority is given to children from the surrounding neighborhoods, students of the Lansing School District and those who may find it financially difficult to register for fee based art classes.
