Mission Statement

Mission Statement Education for Development (EdforDev) is dedicated to the development of human potential through education. Through the support of schools, students, and cultural exchange and service programs in both the US and our partner nations, we strive to assist in the development of a global community. Our core values: * Education is a basic human right. * Education and service are integral to a person?s ability to realize his or her potential and to develop an appreciation for the human community. * The systemic lack of access to education for women and girls must be ameliorated in order to develop an equitable global learning community. * Individuals and institutions involved in EdforDev programs must participate as partners not beneficiaries and benefactors. * Projects developed outside the U.S. should be initiated by local communities, with EdforDev serving as a support for communities? own visions of their future.
