Program 1

Canorah

A Chanukah menorah was constructed on campus made entirely of canned foods that were ultimately donated to needy people.  The purpose was to spread awareness of the holiday while making a positive contribution to the local community as well.  A Student committee solicited fellow students to "sponsor a can" at the below cost rate of $1/can and thus involved around 100 students directly in this initiative.  The 5 by 15 foot Canorah was displayed in a prominent location on the campus and viewed by 100s of others.   There were also hundreds of recipients of the 456 cans of food - which were used to construct the exhibit.
