Mission Statement

The purpose of the Teaching Fellows Institute is to recognize and honor the Charlotte area's outstanding teachers and to provide opportunities that further develop their leadership and professional expertise in order to promote retention of these effective educators. Teachers will share best practices, explore the art and science of teaching, and be encouraged to become educational advocates and community leaders.

Engaging, honoring and inspiring outstanding teachers

The Teaching Fellows Institute offers outstanding teachers the opportunity to reflect and collaborate with fellow teachers in an enriching and rewarding environment. Teachers from Mecklenburg County schools will share best practices, explore the art and science of teaching, and be encouraged to become leaders who advocate for educational excellence.

    TFI has support from visionary foundations and corporations as well and public and private schools and their administrations as well as support from individuals supportive of education and student success.

    Teaching Fellows remaining in education, Teaching Fellows recommending the organization to colleagues, Teaching Fellows continuing to engage with the organization, results of qualitative and quantitative research by the UNC Charlotte College of Education
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
    We have accomplished our goals with the over 300 Teaching Fellows but would like to increase the number of Fellows as well as the percentage engagement to 100%
