What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Program 1

The EnVest Fund unlike many foundations makes contributions to non-profit organizations with the intentions of forming an intimate partnership rather then making traditional no ties grants. Helping to support this approach, the EnVest Fund is based upon a venture capital partnership model. It is through this effort we aim to build trust and share risk; structuring the relationship so that our contributions are directly predicated on the success of each non-profits programs and performance. It is through this strategic partnership in which we serve as a trusted advisor to assist great leaders building stronger, more effective and enduring organizations that better serve our children. Our investments are intended to focus on the strengthening of an organizations infrastructure, often referred to as "organizational capacity". We support our portfolio organizations through multi-year funding, network of contacts, resources and professional advisors

STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"Board Overview
The inspiration for The EnVest Foundation
was fostered by founder Mr. Joshua Humbert’s years of private-sector
and non-profit experience. His vision was to build social venture
capital, fused with working-wealth philanthropy to assist non-profit
organizations with long-term sustainability.

In 2005, Mr.
Humbert recruited Demek Adams and Fred Greene III who made the initial
financial commitments to begin The EnVest Foundation. They shared the
vision for social change with some of the regions most respected and
rising business leaders. Many of these aforementioned business leaders
joined The EnVest Foundation as founding board members. In 2005, The
EnVest Foundation was incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public
grant-making foundation serving the National Capital Region."
