The Rockbridge County Public Schools Foundation was established in 2005, with the mission to raise substantial private funds, over and above the regular operating budget, to make the Rockbridge County Public Schools as excellent as they can possibly be.

Grants made to fund recent projects and programs in the county school system – which includes Rockbridge County High School - span diverse subjects from design and construction of a Vertical Wind Turbine, in a high school architectural drafting class, to the “One School, One Book” project where every student at Fairfield Elementary School has received a copy of E.B. White’s The Trumpet of the Swan and will read and discuss the book, including families and other members of the community.
