Mission Statement

The Institute for Excellence & Ethics (IEE) is a nonprofit organization specializing in professional development, curriculum design, assessment and consulting services. IEE develops and disseminates research-based tools for building the culture of excellence and ethics in school, sport, workplace, home and community.
IEE designs, tests, and delivers curricular resources, professional development, and assessment in eight areas of focus drawn from IEE's applied research and aligned with current educational trends and intervention initiatives: (1) Developing positive and productive relationships, (2) Communicating and collaborating with efficiency and effectiveness, (3) Managing priorities and reducing stress, (4) Committing to high standards and continuous improvement, (5) Demonstrating emotional intelligence, integrity and responsibility, (6) Exhibiting creativity and innovation, critical thinking, and problem solving, (7) Leading and serving others, (8) Living a balanced, purposeful, and healthy life.

Creating an intentional Culture of Excellence & Ethics is based on the notion that the development of competencies occurs through the impact of an intentional organizational culture characterized by shared teaching and learning norms, intentional habits, and pervasive behaviors.  This is facilitated by the use of Excellence & Ethics Tools which are teaching and learning tools and strategies that target important aspects of core mission, are convenient to implement, have theoretical fidelity.

Power2Achieve Curriculum (P2A)

The Power2Achieve® curricular resources support schools engaged in RTI, PBS (PBiS), development of 21st century skills, building safe and supportive school climate, social emotional learning, and other educational initiatives. Power2Achieve® Foundations units are topic-specific, research-based, intentional, and practical student learning modules that provide teachers with instructional materials, lesson plans, lesson extension activities, multimedia learning resources, and access to an interactive online community of educators who develop and teach Power2AchieveFoundations.  Each unit consists of four lessons and curricular materials targeted for instruction based on the implementation plan designed by individual schools and teachers.  Power2Achieve Foundations Core Training provides teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to maximize the impact of a Foundations experience.

Culture of Excellence & Ethics Assessment (CEEA)

Culture of Excellence & Ethics Assessment® process supports development of cultural assets essential for all schools working on RTI, PBS (PBiS), building safe and supportive school climate, social emotional learning standards, development of 21st century skills, and other educational initiatives. The main assessment tool offered by IEE is a battery of CEEA surveys for faculty and staff, students, and parents.

Prepared to Succeed (PTS)

Prepared to Succeed: Workforce, College, and Career Readiness Skills Series are flexible curricular resources for use in a classroom, certification, or other course-type applications. Facilitator Guides distill the latest research on prosocial development (including social and emotional development, positive psychology, and resiliency research) of the core workforce preparedness competencies and skills, and provide replicable tools and strategies, applied practice and real-world simulation activities, and support for teaching and coaching on the skills (including transferring the skills into family, relationships, community contexts). Matching Student Workbooks include class activities, relevant Excellence & Ethics Tools that summarize background research and provide directions for practical application for skill development, followed by opportunities for self-reflection, guided practice, and independent activities.

Excellence + Integrity + Professionalism: 21st Century Workforce and Career Readiness is a curricular resource for internships, on-the-job trainings, and similar practicum-type experiences. It includes Excellence & Ethics Learning Modules that deliver core knowledge about targeted competencies in a professional journal article format, with links to relevant videos, articles, or books for engaging and expanded learning; Excellence & Ethics Tools that summarize background research and provide directions for practical application for skill development, and Optimal Performance Assessment tools and strategies for self-reflection, coaching, and feedback on the real-world implementation of the targeted skills.
