How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

In 2009, the Alliance successfully worked with others to achieve state legislation for a unique educator identifier that will improve the ability of linking information in the state's data systems to improve teacher qualilty and student instruction. In 2008, the Alliance published "Shining the Light II: the State of Teacher Quality, Attrition and Diversity in Colorado" a major research work on the topic. Also released was a "Guide to Teacher Quality for Local Education Leaders" in order to make the research useful at the local level and encourage local efforts to improve the quality of teaching.

Funding Needs

For the Alliance to be fully effective, it would need general operating support for at least two staff members over a three year period.  With operating funds secure during that time, additional funds would supplement the work and build capacity.
