Mission Statement

The Society for New Communications Research is a global nonprofit 501(c)(3) research and education foundation and think tank founded in 2005 to focus on the advanced study of the latest developments in new and emerging communications tools and technologies such as digital, social media, and mobile, and their effect on business, culture, and society.

The Journal of New Communications Research (http://sncr.org/journal) is a peer-reviewed professional/academic journal. Papers are based on original empirical research, as well as pieces focusing on the theory, strategy and tactical use of new media, social media and collaborative tools. The publication supports the mission of the SNCR: to conduct advanced study on the tools, technologies and emerging modes of communication ( i.e. blogs, wikis, RSS, podcasts, collaborative tools and the growing phenomena of participatory communications) and their effect on traditional media, marketing, public relations and advertising, as well as their broader impact on business, politics, entertainment, culture, education and society.
