Mission Statement

Our mission is to build a cultural, information venue centered around a world-class piece of public art. The sculpture consists of three very large, stylized traditional musical instruments-a guitar, banjo, and fiddle-that also function as wind harps (Aeolean harps.) The accompanying Information/Celebration Center will provide cultural activities as well as provide high-tech information on all the attractions and places of interest across the entire region of Eastern Kentucky. The Heritage Monument will be the international logo for the region that will replace the negative stereotypes unjustly placed on this region of Appalachia. The Heritage Monument will be an economic engine that will, according to the Feasibility Study, create over 1300 jobs throughout the region.
