Mission Statement

Student Government Assist (SGA) strives to improve relations between student government leaders and university administrators on college campuses. SGA empowers and trains student government leaders to effectively serve their student bodies; facilitates interaction between student government leaders and university administrators; and helps student affairs administrators to more effectively advise student government leaders. We strive to provide quality training and useful resources through our site.

BIO

Michael J. Novielli earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History & East-Asian Studies, with a concentration in secondary education, from Columbia College of Columbia University in 2003. While at Columbia, he served on student council for four years, ending his time as the Columbia College Student Body President for two terms. After graduating from Columbia, he earned a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education in 2004. While at Harvard, he served as Co-Chair of the Student Affairs committee of the university-wide Harvard Graduate Council, while also serving as a Student Life Representative on the Graduate School of Education's Student Government Association. He currently works in student services administration for Columbia University.
