What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Program 1

Our Programs are: Need-based ? We use U.S. Department of Education and Census statistics to locate the schools with the greatest need. We determine need, and prioritize giving, by comparing: spending per student, median household income within the district, pupil/teacher ratio and percent of the school?s students eligible for the Federal free school lunch program. Teacher Empowering ? All program money is spent on educational items selected by teachers. We feel that the educators who instruct the students are best qualified to decide what their classroom lacks. There are no restrictions put on the items the teachers may select as long as they: 1) are educational and 2) can be used in the classroom. Flexible ? We distribute program funds to eligible teachers in two different ways. First, our system of reimbursements rewards teachers who spend their own money without knowing they will be reimbursed. Second, by funding planned purchases we can help teachers who may be on a tight budget and can?t afford to spend their own money up front.
