How does this organization make a difference?

Overview

Self-reported by organization

All applications for funding must verify financial need. We must give equal weight to all programs, art, music, education, sports. We assist individuals, not other non-profits, for-profits or school systems directly. These organizations can apply only if they are representing a set number of children with financial need. We have no preset determination of financial need, it is a case by case determination.

STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTOR

"MVP SOS is a unique organization. Many foundations are reactive, meaning they are created to help a cause/incident that has already happened and they want to make it better. Our organization is proactive. We are hoping to prevent children from going down the wrong path, feeling isolated or simply not equal to their peers. This organization does not feel finances should ever hinder a child from getting involved in an activity that promotes their hobbies or wellbeing. If we can support a child through financial efforts to keep them involved in their pursuits, it will help their self esteem and give them the same opportunities as other kids. Once a child has lost self- esteem or their sense of belonging, it affects their academics, attitude and life choices. MVP SOS wants to prevent that and instead wants to give children the chance to be part of something positive and enriching as well as the opportunity to develop their interests and passions."
