Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Buffalo Soldiers Historical Society is to preserve, promote and perpetuate the history of African- American military units. We accomplish this mission by conducting presentations and educational awareness programs in and around the Jacksonville community. We also participate in youth mentoring programs. We are a Non – Profit, family oriented organization.

African American Military Exhibit

We present this month long exhibit to summer camps and visitors to the main library. The exhibit is located on the 4th floor, we also give presentation to groups by request. Our focus is on all African American Units from 1775 to 1951.
