For the third year in a row, the museum has experienced substantial increases in visitors and members.  A two-year project to develop a comprehensive historic site master plan has been completed. Successful new programs, including a child-oriented detective tour have been introduced. A new education room was completed in 2010. The master bedroom is now fully restored.  Goals for 2011 include continuing to build attendance by focusing on visitor needs; offering a graduate conference to encourage new scholarship; digitizing the collection; implementing fire-prevention and disaster planning; expanding ADA offerings; and improving financial stability.

STATEMENT FROM THE Principal Officer

"The Stickley Museum recognizes recognize the essential nature of education in the rich legacy that we have inherited.  As stewards of the unique historic site, we are charged with the awesome responsibility of not just caring for the site but making it relevant to 21st century lives.  Educational programming fulfills Stickley’s dream, engages the hearts and minds of our visitors, and brings meaning to what visitors see and experience.   Craftsman Farms is a place that resonates in the heart. Many of our visitors refer to their trips to Craftsman Farms as “pilgrimages.”   This is not because they revere Gustav Stickley, but because the setting itself offers them an opportunity for reverie and reflection, and a chance to gather their thoughts and feel a sense of wholeness. As much as our collection of significant objects, the actual setting itself serves to inspire our visitors."
