Mission Statement

The Indian Valley Education Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that raises funds to support and enhance the educational programs and opportunities in the Souderton Area School District. Initially founded in 1992, this organization has instituted many programs that are now integral aspects of the school district curricula.
IVEF works to ensure the highest level of educational opportunity for students through a community partnership with public education. Our purpose is to raise significant resources through a variety of fundraising methods in order to continue to offer a world class education. Public schools can no longer solely rely on sources of traditional funding - taxes, state & government aid. As the paradigm of funding has shifted, we must work together to ensure that all the students in the Souderton Area School District are provided with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Classroom Innovation Grants

Every day teachers are faced with keeping children interested and challenged with few resources beyond basic curriculum. Limited school budgets often cannot support the creative ideas and enriching material teachers want to bring to their classrooms. The Classroom Innovation Grant program brings the resources of community funding to the classrooms. By working together, we are impacting the ability of educators to create meaningful learning experiences for the students in the Souderton Area Public Schools. Our objective is to encourage and support faculty and administrators who have great ideas for creative use of curriculum that will provide enhanced learning experiences for students. Grants enable the purchase of special materials and resources for the classroom and are intended to support projects that are not provided for within school budgets or through other means

STATEMENT FROM THE Executive Director

"Greetings from The Indian Valley Education Foundation!

On behalf of IVEF, thank you for your interest in our organization! Since our beginning in 1992, the Indian Valley Education Foundation has worked to support and enhance the educational opportunities available to the students in each of the nine Souderton Area Public Schools.

The foundation continues to grow and expand by receiving gifts both financial and in-kind donations, from individuals and local businesses. Many of our contributors were first-time donors, and we are thrilled to have their support and involvement in our efforts. Our community showed up in many capacities to support our fundraisers. As both volunteers and attendees to various events, we were able introduce many community members to the IVEF. Our board continues to work tirelessly to heighten the awareness of our organization by developing giving opportunities, working with the Souderton Area School District to align our efforts with their needs

In the past year, the Indian Valley Education Foundation has distributed over $100,000 to Souderton Area public schools and has been able to fund many programs and initiatives in our classrooms. We believe in the importance of community partnerships with education. By working together we are able to provide every student with the resources they need to succeed.

On behalf of all our board members, I would like to invite you to learn more about the IVEF and it is my hope that you would consider philanthropic support for the work that we are doing every day.

Kind regards,
RuthE S. Potter

To protect the identity of individuals, we do not display sexual orientation or disability information for organizations with fewer than 15 staff. Any values displayed in this section are percentages of the total number of individuals in each category (e.g. 20% of all Board members for X organization are female).
