To preserve the historical integrity of the Concord School House and Upper Burying Ground and to interpret this site for a broad and diverse audience. To promote educational programming, public events, scholarly investigations, and collaborative partnerships with institutions and community groups in order to demonstrate and document the site’s importance in local, regional, and national histories.

Second Saturday Openings

In 2011, Concord School House and theUpper Burying Ground will be open to thepublic this year on the first Saturday of eachmonth, May-October, from 1pm to 4pm. Afterthe success of our monthly “Second Sunday”public openings over the last two years (lastyear in partnership with the Hood Cemetery),we have agreed with our HistoricGermantown partners on a time when most ofthe sites can be open at the same time. HGwill be organizing thematic visits aroundmany of the open Saturdays. Moreinformation will be available on our website orat http://www.freedomsbackyard.com.
