Talia Seidman Foundation for Inclusive Education

  • Yardley, PA

Mission Statement

Each year thousands of children are unable to attend their own local schools due to medical treatments or chronic conditions that interrupt their childhood and the lives of those who care and love them. These children are facing illnesses and disabilities that thrust them into a world of physical pain and mental anguish. In addition, their parents and friends find themselves in emotional shock and trauma; without apparent options to ease their child' s pain. These children lack essential intellectual stimulation and substantial opportunities for constructive educational programming which is especially crucial at this unstable time in their lives. The Talia Seidman Foundation focuses on bringing quality appropriate educational environments to the child; in the child's hospital room or at home if homebound. Through the use of state of the art video conferencing technology the children are able to participate, when they feel physically able, in his or her own school's classroom activities. The children are able to interact with their peers, an interaction so necessary during this time in their lives. Socializing with schoolmates in a classroom setting allows a child to maintain a sense of normality to his or her interrupted life- With live video and audio feeds, the students are able to interact with their teachers and take part in real educational experiences.
