Principal Officer

Mr. O. Morton Congleton

BIO

Mort Congleton has extensive experience in fundraising, finance and marketing, skills that serve him well at the Wake Tech Foundation. Prior to joining the Foundation, Mort was Executive Director of the SPCA of Wake County Inc., and was instrumental in creating the vision for the new Curtis Dail Pet Adoption Center that is recognized as one of the top facilities in the country. He was also an active volunteer with United Cerebral Palsy of North Carolina, now Easter Seals/UCP, where he has served in various offices, including President and Treasurer. At the architectural firm of Smith Sinnett Associates Mort was Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Marketing. Mort has also been involved in community service activities, including three terms on the Raleigh City Council. Among his affiliations are membership in the Raleigh Host Lions Club and North Haven Baptist Church. He and his wife, Marna, a Wake County magistrate judge who got her start as a criminal justice student at Wake Tech, live in Raleigh. They have two adult daughters.
