Mission Statement

The UC Hastings Foundation generates private funds to support UC Hastings College of the Law.  Faculty development and student financial assistance are top funding priorities, adopted in consultation with the Chancellor & Dean.  Foundation grants to UC Hastings support recruiting exceptional students, attracting a distinguished faculty, and creating innovative programs that keep UC Hastings at the forefront of excellence in legal scholarship and training.

Foundation grants created the 1066 Foundation Chair, held by Professor Joan Williams, and significant scholarships for outstanding students.   Grants also bring to campus stimulating speakers and symposia on pressing legal topics.  In addition, the Foundation provides essential support for Hastings journals and Moot Court teams.
