Mission Statement

The United States Student Association (USSA), the country's oldest and largest national student-led organization, develops current and future leaders and amplifies the student voice at the local, state, and national levels by mobilizing grassroots power to win concrete victories on student issues. The United States Student Association Foundation (USSAF) ensures the pipeline of effective student leadership by facilitating education, training and other development opportunities at national, state, and local levels in advocating for issues that affect students.

USSAF is believes in peer-to-peer training and empowering students to breakdown all barriers to higher education. In order to reach this goal USSAF has developed many programs: SSA- USSAF helps to build and sustain State Student Associations (SSAs). Trainings- USSA has developed two weekend long trainings; The Grassroots Organizing Weeknd (GROW) and the Electoral Action Trainings (EAT). SOCCDP- The Student Color - Campus Diversity Project (SOCCDP) was established to address issues of institutionalized discrimination on College and University campuses. LGBT Resources- USSAF is committed to addressing all forms of discrimination on college and university campuses, including homophobia. SLAP- The Student Labor Action Project (SLAP) is a collaboration between USSAF and Jobs with Justice. SLAP works to promote student-labor solidarity. studentsVOTE!- USSAF is organizing a national registration drive, voter education, and get out the vote campaign on hundreds of campuses in 2008.
