Overview

Self-reported by organization

Our vision is to inspire others to emulate and uphold Adelicia Acklen's passion for and devotion to, the arts, education and family through an unending desire to learn, travel and embrace new and different ways of life.Belmont Mansion Association achieves its mission and vision through a commitment to historical accuracy in public education, tours, lectures, seminars, publications, concerts, artistic gatherings and a website. Belmont Mansion has made a concerted effort to reach out to the community to invite neighboring residents, organizations, schools, and the general public to visit the Mansion and tour it free of charge. These events have included activities that relate to the Mansion's and Tennessee's history and former residents, the Acklen family. In addition, the Mansion raised money through a restoration campaign to complete an upgrade of the HVAC system throughout the home to properly conserve the collection. This opens opportunities to host art work from local and beyond institutions that help to bring the story of the Mansion, the time in which it was built and during the Acklen family's residency. The Mansion has also raised money to restore the master bedroom, which includes elaborate wall-to-wall mural paper. These funds were raised by generous contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations in and around Nashville. Belmont Mansion is an important part of the tourism picture in Nashville. Each year, nearly 22,000 visitors learn about the history of Belmont Mansion, Nashville and Tennessee.
