Mission Statement

The Blue Earth County Historical Society (BECHS) was founded in 1901 to lead in the collecting and promoting of Blue Earth County's history to ensure its preservation for the enrichment and benefit of present and future generations.

The Blue Earth County Historical Society (BECHS) collects, preserves and promotes the rich history of Blue Earth County through an extensive collection of archives and artifacts. The BECHS maintains and operates the Blue Earth County History Center and Museum, and works with the City of Mankato to preserve and operate the Historic R. D. Hubbard House. Our activities include school tours, numerous educational events for the public, and genealogical and historical research facilities. Visitors and members locally and from across the United States support and use our services.

Program 1

The BECHS is open for public tours and genealogical help from Tuesday to Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Seasonal special events are held at both the R. D. Hubbard House and the Heritage Museum. We also have traveling exhibits in selected locations around the county.

BIO

Jessica Potter serves as the Executive Director of BECHS. She holds a BA Degree from Southwest Minnesota State University in American History. She has worked for the Blue Earth County Historical Society since 2001. She is active in community organizations including the Mankato Heritage Preservation Commission and Greater Mankato Convention and Visitor's Bureau.
