As stewards of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum and a partner in the National Landscape Conservation System, the Loxahatchee River Historical Society preserves and interprets the dynamic heritage, ancient cultural history and sensitive natural systems of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area and the Loxahatchee River region.

Program 1

Major programs serve over 42,000 annual visitors to our sites and include guided tours of our historical sites and museum for visitors and school tours, educational summer camps, public programming and lecture series, traveling exhibits, research and oral histories and wedding facilities. We created the Loxahatchee River Heritage Trail and associated brochure/map.

"The Loxahatchee River Historical Society has successfully transformed  the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum into a 120-acre national heritage site - the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area-preserved for all Americans in perpetuity.  Through partnerships,  preservation standards, educational programs, strong volunteerism, public awareness and vision, the Society enlivens 5,000 years of fascinating history at a beautifully unique waterfront site."
