WCCC Student Scholarships

The work of the Education Foundation helps WCCC by raising funds for student scholarships. The Foundation also works to promote and establish memorial and honorarium scholarships and endowment funds to ensure funding for future generations of WCCC students.

Dreamkeepers Student Emergency Assistance Fund

Unforeseen financial emergencies are reported as one of the top reasons community college students drop out of school. WCCC's Dreamkeepers Fund helps to change that by providing financial assitance to students faced with short-term emergencies.

Funding Needs

Achieving the Dream initiative supports student groups that traditionally have faced siginificant barriers to success, including students of color and low-income students. Program costs annually are $50,000 to achieve institutional change, policy change, public engagement and knowledge development. GED Program costing $10,000 annually to administer exams for a projected population of 50,000 in Westmoreland County without a high school diploma between the ages of 18 and 24 years old. Dreamkeepers Assistance Program costing $15,000 annually for students requiring emergency assistance who would otherwise drop out of college due to a financial hardship.
