Program 1

City Academy offers grades junior-kindergarten (age 4) through sixth. The academic program emphasizes the mastery of basic subjects, and offers children numerous enrichment opportunities including art, music and foreign language. Additionally, character education is integrated throughout the curriculum. Families also have the option of enrolling in the school's comprehensive after school program.

BIO

Donald Danforth III, President, co-founded City Academy in 1999. Mr. Danforth is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and St. Louis Country Day School. Mr. Danforth was a long-time volunteer at Mathews-Dickey Boys' and Girls' Club, and ultimately served as the Club's Director of Educational Programming. Through his experience at the Club, Mr. Danforth saw first-hand the desire on behalf of families to have access to more educational alternatives in north Saint Louis. In addition to serving as President of City Academy, Mr. Danforth serves on numerous nonprofit boards throughout the broader community.
