1. Help recruit and support students to prepare for the GED exam. 2. Mail age-appropriate books monthly to registered pre-schoolers at no cost to the family. 3. Locate adults who cannot read and help them learn to do so. 4. Give personal dictionaries to all third graders and thesauruses to all sixth graders in the county. 5. Serve as a resource for data per-taining to literacy and economic development of the community.

She attained the master's degree from the University of Alabama and has benefitted from numerous workshops and professional activities.
