Charting Impact

Self-reported by organization

Five powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

  1. What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to develop the total young man, academically, socially and emotionally. Our current strategic vision is designed to be nimble and flexible, adapting to changing demographics, economies and educational trends. It aligns the six key aspects – our students, our team, our academics, our community, our campus and our future.
  2. What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Strategies for accomplishing these goals include programmatic innovations, focused curriculum and the Foundations Learning Program. A heightened, yet appropriate, movement toward mobile devices and academic technologies will shift the focus toward a student-centered learning environment. Providing the best learning environments and residential facilities is at the core of the immediate campus master facility vision.

GRA is also striving to retain and attract the best teachers in the country while providing them with ample professional development resource. Re-embracing the boarding school ethos where all teaching faculty live on campus, calls for a significant investment in a new faculty housing neighborhood.

A progressive approach, a focus on innovation, and the generous support of the entire Grand River Academy community will be essential to accomplish our pledge to the students, faculty and families of GRA.
  3. What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Grand River Academy secures funding for programs through tuition, donations, and in-kind contributions. These include the Blue and White Annual Fund, the Endowment Fund, Capital Campaigns, special projects and volunteerism.
  4. How will they know if they are making progress?
The current strategic vision includes intentions that assist in measuring the attainment of outlined goals. Regular departmental reports that track expenses and funding, along with annual evaluations of staff also assist in determining the progress of the strategic vision.
  5. What have and haven't they accomplished so far?
Much was accomplished with the most recently completed Strategic Plan. The Bud Field Student Center, Robert S. Morrison Lecture Center, Dylan Baseball Field and the Berkey Sports Pavilion were constructed.
