Mission Statement

Teaching local history is proven to help nurture children's sense of both identity and place, by providing connections to local people, places and institutions. Recent polling shows a strong desire of the community to find new tools of local economic development. Cultural and historic destinations shape 90 percent of travelers' choice of vacations, and a collaborative heritage tourism initiative can be a money-maker for the community at large, including The Historical Society, retailers, hotels, restaurants, The College of Wooster, and The Center for the Arts.
