Mission Statement

The Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation for Education is an Endowment Fund created in 1985 to support Catholic education in St. Peter's Parish School in Mansfield, Ohio. Its specific purpose is to generate significant financial resources for the Parish in its ongoing effort to promote and maintain this most important ministry of the Catholic Church.

In the early years, the Foundation's income was returned to the school in the form of enhancements to the classrooms, primarily through requests from individual teachers. As the Foundation funds grew, other sources were made available for teachers to address classroom needs. The Board of Trustees voted in 2004 to direct a defined percentage of the total assets made through contributions and investments to support teachers' salaries.

The Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation provides assistance to help individuals, families and organizations pursue their long-term charitable giving to St. Peter's Parish School conveniently, effectively and with maximum tax benefits. The General Fund and Specific Funds accept gifts of any amount.

You can support St. Peter's Parish School during your lifetime and in perpetuity by making an outright gift of cash or assets in any amount. You might consider a Deferred or Planned Gift, such as a charitable bequest, life insurance or the assets of a retirement account. When the Foundation receives your contribution, it is immediately invested and annual distributions are made to St. Peter's Parish School in perpetuity.

As members of the boards of Development and the Msgr. Dunn Foundation, we recognize the importance of quality education, supported and enriched by the faith family of St. Peter's. We have agreed to collaborate in a process to raise awareness of the mission and goals of the Msgr. Edward C. Dunn Foundation for education through:

• The utilization of the gifts and talents of each of our members
• Our individual active support and participation
• The education of all of our constituencies through marketing and personal contacts
• Affirmation of the importance of St. Peter's School to the academic landscape of greater Mansfield and surrounding communities.
